What Inspires Me to Support Other Practitioners Through Supervision?
Receiving supervision over the years has been a lifeline—helping me process, grow, and show up ethically and wholeheartedly. It shaped the way I practise today. I’m passionate about giving back— one way to do so is to offer others the same grounded, supportive space I once needed.
My Approach to Supervision
I provide supervision through a trauma-informed, collaborative, and strengths-based lens. Sessions are tailored to meet the unique needs, goals, and growth areas of each supervisee. I use a blend of supervision models depending on the focus and outcomes we're aiming for, including:
Experiential Learning – Enhancing skills through practical reflection and experience.
Psychoeducation – Supporting development in clinical knowledge, ethics, and self-care.
Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) – Exploring how thoughts, feelings, and behaviours affect clinical work.
Person-Centred – Emphasising the supervisory relationship, fostering self-awareness and personal growth.
Adlerian – Focusing on purpose, goals, and a collaborative path for professional development.
Social Role Model – Covering learning, teaching, counselling, monitoring, evaluation, consultation, and administration.
Process-Oriented – Encouraging reflective practice and awareness of the supervision process itself.
"As a supervisor, my role is to walk beside you—not to lead or follow, but to hold a space where your wisdom, ethics, and intuition can grow stronger. Supervision isn’t just about ticking boxes—it’s about honouring the human behind the practitioner." – Azelene Williams
